Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), are a more efficient alternative to traditional sewerage systems. Because sewerage systems mainly rely on pipes and solid engineered structures, they aren’t always able to drain surface water effectively and sustainably. They are unable to filter water which negatively impacts the quality of local bodies of water.
